Fields of Gold

Some time ago I promised you to share our experiences and pictures from photo job. I guess every photographer has own style and approach. To catch a perfect moment requires a good camera but also much more. At least we believe so. The best camera in the world will not help if one cannot move legs fast enough, be creative or play in a team with all others at the wedding. Sometimes I feel like being a good photographer makes me better therapist, and being a mindful therapist makes be a better photographer. Well, believe me or not there is much truth in it. In photography it is about paying attention, being present, tuning yourself in, being observant and trying to create a relation. Both me and Thomas experienced several times that our roles went beyond what photographer should do. It happened that Thomas had to take care of groom who was too stressed, or other one who took one "courage shot" too much, or that I had to make full speed make up for a bride who changed her mind after all and did wanted to have a make up. As long as our main work is safe we are willing to do MUCH for our couples.

Today I want to write about wedding of Silje and Jonas.

When we travelled to Denmark to take their wedding pictures everything seemed to be spiritual. Maybe except of a cabin we should sleep in surrounded by huge spiders that made me freak out but everything else was just perfect. And, well be honest spiders are my problem no anybody else's :)

Wedding took a place on a Danish countryside, on a farm transformed into lovely hotel called Brydegaard, with cosy rooms and lovely garden. Everything in a golden frames of Danish corn fields. We fell in love immediately. With people, country and place.

Silje. Fire-haired woman. I think her love to coming husband was vaporizing from her skin and made all of us love-dizzy. There was no place for stress, hurry or things that were difficult. Silje was calm and full of positive expectations. People around were sailing from place to place, talking quietly and smiling.

Ceremony was in the garden. Weather was perfect. Silje looked stunning. Herbs and plants smelled magically while Jonas came with helicopter – he is professional pilot – and made meadow into a stormy sea.

And when they walked down the garden time was about to stop. A female priest was ready, and so were all guests. Leaves on apple and pear trees were singing bossanova, soap bobbles were playing with light while those two were about to say the most important words. Everything was just perfect. And then as a big surprise, blessing and sign sent from the heaven a white dove flew down, sat at the branch above their heads and started to coo.

All witnesses of that moment hold a breath and most of us felt truly touched.

After the ceremony we took a wedding couple for photo shooting and followed them late at night.

It was one of those meeting we will never forget. We gave everything we could to take a good shots but we got something in return as well.

If I can put it in a bigger perspective; we felt like a part of that wedding even though it was not a plan at the first place.

One can nourish soul in not expected places and situations. It is just about being present and opened. One can be tired after many hours of work but still feel like it was a great day. Day when somebody's love made your day special as well.

Here you have just some pictures from this unique wedding. Remember that we make a report from the whole day so dynamic of what you see on just some pictures is different than impression when you see everything.

Enjoy!
